In April of 1997, Janet Lifshin attended The Humor Project conference in Sarotga Springs, New York. Anyone who goes to the conference can apply for a grant and Janet wrote a proposal for the HAHA, Humor Alliance For Healthy Attitudes. Her dream was to help make South Florida a happier place by bringing healing humor and laughter clubs to her local area.

How Janet got involved in the laughter/humor movement.

In 1995, Janet met Vanessa Vendola who had come to her to help her publish her book, The Seven Laws of Laughter as Janet owned a desktop publishing business. The idea of laughter unleased a passion and drive in Janet, who had lost her beloved husband, Allan in Oct 1994. Janet always had a gift of a great attitude and a memorable laugh and her husband, Allan was the funny one in the family. He was always lighthearted, telling jokes and spreading happiness, even with his illness and many hospitalizations.
Janet's son,Timothy was just eight years old at the time of Allan's death and he too missed Allan's jokes and great sense of humor.

Laughter Unlimited was born

Janet and Vanessa formed, Laughter Unlimited and together with their infectious laughs they put on laughter events, including health fairs, childrens events and laughter parties. They heard about laughter clubs in India and met Steve Wilson, Co-founder of the World Laughter tour and Dr. Madam Kateria when they came to Boca Raton in June of 1999. (see article on laughter and happiness). From that occasion they were inspired to produce, Laughter Unlimited:The Tape,which continues to offer 30 minutes of laughter and more laughter. Vanessa moved from South Florida to North Carolina and Janet contined with the laughter work.

Lightheared Enterprises is born

To broaden the scope of the laughter work and the addition of natural healing products, including her own brand of Stabilized Oxygen - Oxycharge Janet founded Lighthearted Enterprises. She created more programs, including Love, Laughter and Lifemates and Journey to Health and Happiness Naturally.
